The Big 40 is powered by CAT diesel engine with added power, features and improved noise reduction at both idle and weld speed. New industrial-grade, sealed marine ignition switch with starter interlock prevents the starter from engaging while the engine is running. Protects ring gear and starter from abuse. Quiet, only 65 db (90Lwa) at idle and 73.8 db (98.7 Lwa)at 23 ft and maximum output. Improves work site environment and communication. Hot Start provides positive Stick electrode starts to make it easy to start all types of electrodes, and works great for bead tie-ins. New engine gauges standard on all models. 5,500-watt peak AC power that is independent of weld settings which means no interaction between tools and the welding arc. Designed and built with reliable, heavy-duty industrial components to allow it to operate in remote locations without downtime. Arc-Drive makes welding easy. Automatically enhances Stick welding, especially on pipe, by focusing the arc and preventing the electrode from going out. Automatic engine shutdown protects engine if low oil pressure or high engine coolant temperature occurs. Deluxe model includes: AC TIG to weld aluminum, engine gauges, weld meters and 15 kW three-phase power while not welding. Note: High-frequency control required for AC TIG welding. CSA, IEC and NEMA compliant.

Truck Freight Additional Information:
This product is too heavy/large to ship via the small package delivery services (e.g. UPS, FedEx) so it will be sent to you via truck freight. Truck freight is different than standard UPS, FedEx or US Mail in that you will be responsible for carrying the product from the back of the truck into your house (or wherever it's going).
The most important thing to remember about truck freight is that you MUST inspect the package at the time of delivery. If the box has any damage, or if there is any reason for you to be at all concerned about damage, please write "PRODUCT DAMAGED" clearly on the sheet that they ask you to sign. This simply insures that if there is any damage, it will be easy to take care of the problem.
If you are ordering a very large item, please keep in mind that you may need a couple of people to help unload it. Alternatively, most truck freight companies offer additional services to help you move items from the truck into your house. Once we email you the tracking information you can contact the shipper directly to inquire about additional services. You would be responsible for directly paying the truck freight carrier for any additional services.
